Lilliput’s “Big Explorers” Summer Camp Program is designed to further develop & challenge students skills in language arts, math, social studies, science activities and foster creativity with art projects. Our own experienced and highly qualified teachers continue the superior quality of care and continued education through this 3 week summer program. This program will be taught by two of our lead Kindergarten teachers.
- Language arts: Journaling/writing using inventive spelling & reading award winning books Social Studies/Science:
- Rainforest Habitat Exploration and Map Skills
- Math: Measurement/Temperature Creativity
- Development: art projects
TROPICAL RAINFOREST
Let’s go on an adventure & visit the endless wonders of our precious Tropical Rainforests! We will learn about the incredible diversity of evolved plant life and creatures that inhabit the different levels of the rain forest. In addition to a variety of projects, every child will complete a journal with information that they have learned and found most fascinating.
AUTHOR OF THE DAY
Fostering a love to reading, each day we will learn about a new successful children’s author. We will read some of their marvelous books, and then work on creating a piece of art work inspired by the book. Children will then be inspired to write about their favorite author & reasons why they are drawn to that author’s book over others. We have found that learning about different authors sparks more interest in reading & creative writing!!!!

Week 1: June 6-10
Digging for Dinosaurs
Be a paleontologist and dig up some ancient lost dinosaur bones. Join us in a dinosaur romp by crawling, flying, stomping and moving your body like your favorite dinosaur in a prehistoric relay. Discover what plant we see today that has survived from the Jurassic time. Our other dinosaur games, activities and figurines are ready to engage your child’s imagination this week!
Week 2: June 13-17
Discovery Zone
Be a crazy scientist and discover the mystery of bubbles. Explore different textures and materials in a hands-on learning environment. Mix strange concoctions, make predictions and be ready for some surprising results. This is a fantastically, messy & creative week!
Week 3: June 27-July 1
Beach Week
Yahoo! Bouncing beach balls, building beautiful sand castles, playing the Frisbee toss, and the hula-hoop challenge! Many more beach games to enjoy. Lilliput’s treat one day this week, a special visit from the Ice-cream truck! Children can cool off from the busy beach week & summer heat with a frosty treat, yummy!
Week 4: July 11-15
Westward Hoedown
Children come saddle up and get ready for some wild western adventures, yee-haw! Sift for shimmering gold, and count your riches. Hear the beat & move your feet joining us in a square dance/doesee- do with a partner! Discover how tall a horse is and much more!
Week 5: July 18-22
Bugs, Bugs Galore
Creepy, crawly, flying, fascinating, magnificent bugs! Learn about the many insects that live around us and the important jobs they do. Join us on a bug safari as we try to catch some bugs in our backyard to study then release at the end of the week. Create your own supper bug with wings, multiple eyes, antenna, legs, and hair or slime.
Week 6: July 25-29
Move to the Rhythm
Wiggle, giggle and move to different rhythms and beats! Lilliput comes alive with music and movement from around the world. Children turn up their creativity and construct their own instruments to make the sounds they love. We learn silly songs and fun ways to move our body while listening to a wide range of fantastic music.
