Dear Parents
As tax time nears, we want to remind parents that their tuition here may be deductible. Please check with your accountant, but I believe that if both parents are working then you may use the tuition as a deduction.
For tax purposes,
Our tax ID number is:
04-3162-287
If you forget our tax ID number you will find it on our website at:www.Lilliputschool.com under “News” and look for this February newsletter.
Please keep your canceled checks or receipts as record of your payments to us. If all 320 parents called me to look up their payments and make a receipt I would be doing nothing else. I don’t yet have these records on computer so it is a lot of work for me. If you have dependent care vouchers, I would be glad to sign those for you.
Thank you,
Linda Sullivan

PARKING LOT ETIQUETTE
Thank you very much for not getting into the parking lot pick-up or drop-off line until your designated pick-up or drop-off time We truly appreciate it!
If you do arrive early, please park in a real parking space and not in a random spot blocking the dumpster, open parking spaces or other cars. Teachers arrive at all different times and need to be able to get to an open parking space and some parked cars need to leave and have been blocked by cars waiting to join the drop-off line.
Thank you for your help we hope this will help the line move more smoothly and keep parents from waiting on RT140.

SCHOOL PICTURES
School pictures, will be taken during class time on Thursday and Friday, February 4, & 5. If by any chance your child misses their day, or you are unhappy with your pictures, there will be a picture re-take/ make-up day in March.
You should have received a packet telling you about picture day with an attached envelope of photo packages available. If you only want the class picture, write that on the envelope. The cost is $12 (the printer forgot to include this)
Contact your child’s teacher or call the office if you did not get this packet and we will get one to you. You can choose from individual packages as well as a class picture.
As these will be composite class pictures, all children will have their picture taken on these days to be in the class picture. You may choose to buy or not buy.
Please make sure your envelope is returned to Lilliput by February 4.

OUTDOOR PLAY
Please, send your children with warm clothes, hats mittens and especially boots. We go out when the weather is above 32 degrees and your child will be uncomfortable if he or she is without warm clothing and boots. If you would like to leave a pair of old sneakers here please label them with your child’s name.

GETTING READY FOR KINDERGARTEN
State law requires all public school systems to screen children prior to their entering Kindergarten. This screening is not a readiness screening (we do that ) but it is a screening to look for possible learning problems. Whether you are planning on sending your child to public or private kindergarten, you should have them attend this screening.
Within the next few weeks Shrewsbury residents should be getting information from Beal about this process and also about registering your child for Beal.
If you do not receive this information by the end of March, contact the Shrewsbury Superintendents office.

BRUSHING TEETH AFTER LUNCH
Dear Parents, As of January 22, 2010 the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care ( DEEC), our licensing agency, has made a new regulation that all children eating lunch at school must brush their teeth. This includes children who are in our half day program and eat lunch and then go home.
In order to accomplish this we are asking parents to send a tooth brush and tooth paste in their child's lunch box each time they eat here. After they eat we will see to it that they brush their teeth.
If you oppose this program, you may send a letter requesting that your child does not brush their teeth at school.
