Dear Parents
This was a fantastic school year! We are so lucky here at Lilliput to have been able to work with and care for such wonderful children and families. We have all enjoyed your children and are sad to say goodbye.  Many wonderful families who have been here for years, are now moving on with their last child.   Please remember to visit us from time to time.   We all enjoy seeing the children as they grow. Remember you can stay connected with Lilliput through our facebook page which we check and update regularly.

Our Name on facebook: Lilliput Page Shrewsbury

STAFFING CHANGES
During the   summer, life happens and changes in the teacher’s lives may require changes in their work schedule.  We can never know what these changes will be until they happen no matter how carefully we plan so we do not guarantee any particular teacher in any class. If we do have a change in staffing we will

send a letter home regarding  the updated information. As always, if life changes interfere with your plans, please call us and we will see if we can find a class or time that will suit you better.

LUNCH AND LEARN

Lilliput will be having the “Lunch & Learn” program next year for children going to half day kindergarten who want a two day  ( Tues and Thurs ) program of beginning reading, math, social studies and science and advanced curriculum. Parents will drop their children at the blue door after they are picked up from morning Kindergarten.  They will eat lunch here and then have their lessons.  If you are interested call for more information.   508-842-0430

We also will be having the “stay and play” class on Tuesdays and Thursday and Monday, Wednesday and Friday for parents who need longer care.  Children will complete their morning class, stay for lunch, rest time and an afternoon project.   Pick-up is 2:30 or children can stay for extended day until 5:00.

READ WITH YOUR CHILDREN OVER THE SUMMER!
Getting your child ready to read is getting your child ready to succeed! Read aloud 20 minutes a day with your child from birth to at least age six. This enjoyable activity provides 600 hours of essential pre-literacy preparation. After reading with your child ask questions about what you have just read. This supports reading comprehension. Children whose parents read with them learn to read early and well. It's as simple as that!

chalk board

Many thanks to Tom Gareffi who donated a great chalkboard to add to our playground. The children are really enjoying it, and they get fresh air as they play. His daughter Allison is in Mrs. Logan's class.

puppet show

We send thanks also to Erica Holden for donating a puppet theater to room 9. The children have been having a great time with it all week.
