Dear Parents,

Dear Parents,

Lilliput opens in house registration November 16, 17,18,19, and 20 for fall of 2010. This registration is only for the people who have attended Lilliput. We have registration now because we want present Lilliputians to have first choice of programs for next year before outside people register on December 7.

During your conference in November, your child’s teacher will help you choose the right classroom and program for next year. We expect classes to be similar to this year, with just a few minor time changes. We will be adding a "stay and play" on MWF as well as Tu-Th. We cannot always guarantee who the teacher will be as changes happen over the summer.

Please remember that your registration fee is NOT refundable. So if you are not sure what your plans are you may want to check your options before registering, or take your chances that you will get a spot when you are sure. Registration will be on-going all year. We usually have afternoon openings well into the spring for 3 and 4 year olds.

The registration fee is $125.00 for preschool and $250.00 for Kindergarten and upper grades. There is one Registration fee per family – the greater.

Registration is by lottery and your ticket will come home the week of November 9 with your child. Check your child’s backpack for a bright green colored envelope attached to your child’s backpack with directions for registering. Your ticket to register is in the envelope. Also included is will be the tuition rates for next year and a schedule of class times. If you have any questions, please call the office.

Thank you,
Linda Sullivan

  • Or log onto: www.whdh.com and go to “Storm Force” school closings (Please note that Channel 7 will no longer show our cancellations on TV)

Our policy for canceling school is:

  • If there is bad weather, check the listings above to see if we cancel, delay, or dismiss early. Do not go by what the public schools do.
If you do not see or hear our name, we are open the regular time.
  • You can be notified on your cell phone as soon as we announce school closings or delays. Go to www.whdh.com and click on
“Closing Bell on your Cell”. This information to register is available in more detail on our web site at www.Lilliputschool.com and in the notice attached to this newsletter
Please do not call the school if you decide not to send your child due to the weather conditions. Lilliput cannot handle the amount of calls. If we don’t see you on a day when the weather is bad, we will assume you chose to stay home. Thank you.

COLD WEATHER REMINDERS
Please remember that Lilliput goes outside every day if the temperature is above 32 degrees and not raining. Dress your child appropriately for cold weather. If you are sending your daughter in a dress, a pair of long pants underneath is a must. Shoes or boots that can stand the cold are also important.

Please LABEL everything that comes off. Many times we have three children with the same coats. Labeling really helps!

BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION
boxtopsLilliput will continue to collect "Boxtops for Education." This program is easy to do and we get 10 cents for every boxtop which we can spend as we wish. This money will be used towards upgrading our classroom equipment.

Please continue to save and send in your boxtops. We thank our parent volunteer Maryanne Boudreau for counting and cutting these and sending them in for reimbursement.

THIS MONTH IN MUSIC CLASS

Below, please find some songs that our children wrote to celebrate Halloween. Each song is sung to the tune of the “Itsy Bitsy Spider”

HALLOWEEN SURPRISE
Vampires and skeletons
Went to a big dark cave.
They thought they'd find a barber
To give them both a shave.

Instead they found a dragon
Snacking on a bat.
The dragon got quite angry
And squashed them with a splat!

(Mrs. Gerardi and Mrs. DiGiacomo's First Grade)

HAPPY ENDING
It's time to carve the pumpkins
because it's Halloween.
We'll carve them into Jack-O-Lanterns-
The best you've ever seen.

When Halloween is over
There is no need to cry.
We'll take our Jack-O-Lanterns
And bake some pumpkin pie.

(Mrs. Morano and Mrs. Reil's Kindergarten)

FALL FUN
The brightly colored leaves
Are falling to the ground.
We wish that it was candy corn
Falling all around.

The air is getting chilly;
There are witches in the air.
Skeletons and spiders
Will give you quite a scare.

(Mrs. Lucente and Mrs. Metcalf’s Kindergarten)

TRICK OR TREAT SURPRISE
The little trick or treaters
Went to the haunted house.
They opened up the creaking door
And found a giant mouse.

The kids chased the mouse
But ran right through a ghost:
Then stumbled on a dragon
Who turned them into toast!
