Dear Parents,
Can you believe a month has gone by? Already the children have settled in nicely and you would think they had been here for months!
Our teachers have had an opportunity to observe your children and we have begun our evaluation of their skills and needs.
This month, you will receive a social progress report from the school. This will tell you how your child is adjusting to school. There is no need to return this evaluation but if you have questions, please call to talk with the teacher.
Teachers will also start doing a more thorough evaluation and we will meet with you in November to go over the details of this screening.
It is very important that we keep on-going communication between home and school. If this is not happening, please call so that we can correct the problem.

LILLIPUT FUNDRAISERS
The Innisbrook fundraiser has been sent home. Many parents have been asking for this as they find the long rolls of wrapping paper very useful and hard to find. Please understand that we do not want the children to go door to door selling items. In the past, parents have just brought the brochure to work or to relatives and have had great success. You can have far away relatives order things on line at: www.Innisbrook.com They need to use our school number to give the school credit. That number is: 116272. NEW THIS YEAR...Families order on the internet. I understand there are more items to choose from on the internet too and our school receives 50% profit if you use our number.
Again, we don’t expect parents to participate in all of our fundraisers but we hope one of them will benefit you as well as us. Any support you can give us will be greatly appreciated.
The last day for Innisbrook orders is October 16. If you forget to send your order in, you can order on-line all through the year.

MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD GETS CREDIT FOR YOUR PAID TUITION
If you have a different last name than your child’s or if a grandparent sends tuition, please make sure you put the child’s name on your check. I am having a hard time trying to figure out who the tuition checks are for because the names on the checks don’t match any of our students.
Last month I had three checks from parents with different last names and one from a grandparent. I had to go through 280 names to try and find a matching address, and for the grandparent I had to call information to get a phone number. I finally straightened out the problem.
Also several times last year I received an envelope with “tuition” marked on the outside and cash inside but no name anywhere. Make sure you put your child’s name on any envelopes with cash. Thank you…..Linda

WAITING IN THE CAR LINE
We are trying hard to get our classes onto the porch on time so that you will not have to wait too long in the car line and so that our lines don’t hang out onto route 140. If you are coming north on 140 and can’t get into the driveway, sometimes it is safer to go up to Willie’s Steakhouse and turn around and wait on this side of the street instead of in the middle of 140. I have seen some pretty nasty truck drivers blast their horns at our parents or fly by them at super fast speeds. Watch out for the lady in the Brown Buick.
Also if you are early to pick up your child, remember that we have parents arriving for the class before you and if you get in the line you will block these parents from getting their children. If you arrive early, just pull into a parking spot until you see your child’s class come out to the porch - then get into the line.
It also helps us if you have your child’s name tag in the window. Teachers from other classes can help load or unload children if they see your name tag. If you need another tag because two cars are doing pick up, just ask your child’s teacher to give you another tag. These tags are important all year long, especially when we have substitute teachers.

SAFETY IN THE CAR LINES
Please drive slowly in the Lilliput driveway. Remember that little ones are impulsive and often run out in front of cars without thinking and classes walk through the parking lot to get to the playground several times a day.
We appreciate those moms who refrain from cell phone use so that they can converse with their child’s teachers at pick-up and drop off time.
Also, please put your car in park when letting your child get in or out of the car at drop off or pick up time. A couple of our teachers almost had their toes run over. We have such great teachers we don’t want to put any of them out of commission!!............Thank you

CHILDREN’S RECORDS
The Department of Early Education and Care requires that parents fill out certain forms for the preschool their child is attending. Many parents have not completed these forms and this puts Lilliput in jeopardy with the Department. If you receive a notice saying your forms are incomplete, please make sure you get the forms into us immediately so as not to put us in danger of non-compliance.

All you need to do is clip and send them to Lilliput School each one is worth 10¢ for your child’s school.
Innisbrook Wrapping Paper fundraiser is starting at the end of September. The school earns 50% of the sales and many families have enjoyed doing this over the past few years when we have raised over $4000. Lilliput’s school # is 116272, you can also visit their website at www.Innisbrook.com we understand some families have children at other school doing similar fundraisers, and perhaps you could do a little for each child’s school.
